Open only for its reader
When a licensed book opens, its content is decrypted in memory while reading and is never saved as an exposed file. The license belongs to the account and device. Protected pages are hidden during screen recording or mirroring, and each visible page can carry a personal watermark. These controls discourage unauthorized copying without pretending any system can make piracy impossible.
Mark the page, privately
Highlight, write with Apple Pencil and return to the exact place you stopped. Your annotations and page position stay on your device.
Ask without sending the book away
Explain a passage, summarize an idea or create a question. Study help processes book content on-device, so the page does not need to be uploaded to a remote service.
Carry the library offline
After secure delivery in the app, eligible books remain available for offline reading within their license. Share a permitted quote with its source, then return to the full work in Libretto.
